IHS Enterprises Pty Ltd (LMCT 00000, ABN 00 000 000 000) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you enquire about or purchase a vehicle, including your name, contact details, and — where you proceed to a purchase — identification and finance-related documents necessary to complete the sale and meet our legal obligations as a motor car trader. We also automatically collect limited technical information when you use this website, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, through cookies and analytics tools (see below).
How we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, process vehicle sales, arrange compliance and registration, keep the records required of a licensed motor car trader, and improve our website. With your consent, we may contact you about relevant stock or offers. If you don't provide the information we need, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry or complete a sale.
Cookies & analytics
This site uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and, where enabled, to measure traffic and support marketing — for example Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) pixel. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies via our cookie banner, change your choice any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer, and control cookies through your browser. Declining does not affect essential site functions.
Who we disclose it to
We may disclose personal information to: compliance workshops and inspectors; transport and registration authorities (e.g. VicRoads) to register your vehicle; finance brokers or lenders where you ask us to assist with finance; our payment processor (Stripe) where you pay online; analytics and advertising providers (e.g. Google, Meta) for the purposes above; and others where required or authorised by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (including payment, analytics and advertising providers such as Stripe, Google and Meta) may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled appropriately.
Marketing & opt-out
We only send marketing communications with your consent, and every marketing message includes an option to unsubscribe. You can opt out at any time using that link or by contacting us. Transactional messages (such as invoices, receipts and enquiry responses) are not marketing.
Storage & security
Personal information and uploaded documents are stored securely with restricted, role-based access, and retained only as long as required for legal and business purposes, then destroyed or de-identified. If a data breach likely to cause serious harm occurs, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Access, correction & complaints
You can request access to or correction of your personal information, or make a privacy complaint, by contacting us at enquiries@ihsenterprises.com.au or 0452 382 425. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
Please note: This is a general template covering common practices. Have it reviewed and tailored to your exact data flows by a qualified Australian adviser before you rely on it.
